Real impressions
Every Vibe9 starts with a physical impression—because a true custom fit begins with the actual geometry of your ear canal.

Custom in-ear monitors / Leander, Texas
Hand-built CIEMs for performers who need their mix to arrive intact. No guesswork. No excess. No standard ear canal.
The Vibe9 point of view
This is tried-and-true work—not a new experiment. Mike Maurer built his first in-ear monitors in 1990 using driver technology very similar to what remains in use today. For 36 years, he has refined what matters: monitors that keep working, stay coherent, and let your brain hear the music before distortion catches up. While the industry chases higher driver counts, Mike builds only what the sound actually needs.

Your ear canal is part of the acoustic path. We account for its shape so the monitor is tuned around what you will actually hear.
More drivers are not automatically better. We keep the signal path purposeful, reliable, and clear—with no more than six drivers in a monitor.
No thin, disposable components. Just considered engineering, premium materials, and a lifetime warranty from Vibe9.
The Vibe9 standard
It’s a build philosophy—from the shape of the ear impression to the moment a finished monitor is verified for one specific listener.
The only promise that matters after the show: every Vibe9 audio driver is covered by a lifetime warranty, for as long as you own it.
Two-way through five-way circuit options create purposeful driver separation, long-lasting low distortion, and clean clarity.
Michael Maurer’s proprietary testing accounts for the changing volume and shape of your own ear—not a generic 2cc coupler.
Your shells are poured into investment castings made from your real ear impressions. No shortcut through 3D printing.
Built for the real stage
Mike Maurer brings decades of hands-on audio and production experience to every Vibe9 build.
Each shell begins with a physical impression and an investment casting shaped for one listener.
Every Vibe9 audio driver is covered for as long as you own your monitors.
Sound begins with shape
Vibe9 does not rely on an old, standardized ear shape or an archaic approach to sound testing. With a true impression, we replicate the contours that affect your listening path—and tune with that reality in mind.

Morristown High School’s WJSV-FM radio and TV station began in 1972. It became Mike’s first introduction to audio and video production when he joined as a freshman. He hosted a two-hour radio show every day and earned a third-class FCC engineer license with a broadcaster’s endorsement.
That curiosity led to his first in-ear monitor build in 1990 and became a 36-year practice: solving the real-world problems that sit between the artist, the ear, and the music.
